After Hours and Weekends

We provide 24 hour phone receptionist who will help you schedule, cancel or change an appointment. They will also chart your phone call and direct your message to the appropriate staff member. If your condition cannot wait until our office opens, please report to the nearest urgent care, ER or call 9-1-1.

Patient Account Services

If you have questions regarding your bill, please call and let the receptionist know. They will direct your billing question to the billing department. Your phone call may be returned from an unknown number. Billing will return your call within 24-48 hours. You can also join our patient portal and view and pay statements online. If you are not part of the patient portal or need help with logging in, please contact our office.

Lawrence Kacmar, MD, SC

Primary Care Physician & Sports Medicine Specialist located in Aurora, IL

Dr. Lawrence Kacmar, MD

Dr. Kacmar is an independent family physician who is board-certified in both primary care and sports medicine. A former collegiate football athlete and active adult, Dr. Kacmar recognizes the value of preventing and treating sports injuries from the young school age athlete through the aging adult. With a focus in primary care, Dr. Kacmar is able to care for all ages from routine medical care, preventative exam or acute care needs. Dr. Kacmar remains an admitting physician at Edward Hospital.

Dr. Kacmar's practice interests include orthopedic injuries, critical illness, acute illnesses, acute injury, and patients who are chronically ill seeking a diagnosis. Dr. Kacmar's years of experience and dedication to the continued study of medicine have allowed him to have a holistic approach and updated knowledge of evidence-based working practice.

Dr. Kacmar attended Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency in family medicine at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois. His fellowship in sports medicine at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. He has remained Medical Director for The Center for Primary Care and Sports Medicine since 2002. He continues to remain committed to future physicians as a preceptor for Loyola University.

Shannon Keith, RN-MSN, MHA

Shannon Keith joined The Center for Primary Care and Sports Medicine in 2012. Shannon has enjoyed running for most of her life and continues to participate in long distance running. Shannon's practice interests include athlete functional training, weight management, preventative medicine, diabetes and inflammatory disorders for all gender and ages, as well as, perimenopause, menopause and post menopause women conditions. Shannon believes in a holistic approach to medicine and utilizing nutrition, exercise and supplements alone or in combination with pharmaceuticals. 

Shannon holds an undergraduate and graduate degree in Health Care Administration from Grand Canyon University and Master of Science in Nursing from Marquette University. She continues to support education and the development of future nurses as an adjunct professor at Aurora University.
